nice rewriting. It makes me think about the contextual difference between “more” and “wise”… ;)

Yes. Colors are important. But that’s something that is really part of a logo. Red is the color of coke and yellow is the color of the M of MacDonalds, no? :)

However, any good logo has a b/w version. I had to work a bit on it in order to preserve the meaning and the outline, and if you see I’ve got it on the logosheet’s thumbnail. :)

It’s a ‘bit’ different: it has a small line dividing the two external circles, but in the tests I did that was the solution that worked better.

Yes, I “user tested” the logo before finalizing it. ;)

Interesting essay. Thank you.

Just a point made me think (the point you prefer): “It expresses well how the whole is more than the sum of its parts”. Effectively your new logo makes me think something different: the whole is a wise sum of part.

It should be something linked to the fact that I am left-handed… :-)

Primo post sul tuo nuovo blog, primo commento con un nick diverso, logo molto molto bellino :)

Wow, ok I may seem stupid but this is the truth:

I realized just now, after reading your first post, where you said this new blog would have been in English, that your blog is actually written in English.

I mean, I read two posts, I was leaving a comment here and I was writing in Italian because I didn’t notice.

Oh well, it’s too late in the morning or English has growth deep roots into my mind :D

By the way, here’s the translation of the first italian part:

“First post on your new blog, first comment I made with a different nickname, very very lovely logo :)”

(Ok it’s not the first post you made on this blog but well I’ve noticed after I read the real first one …so…)

@Abi:Thanks! :) About the italic, you mean the title, the menu or the dark bar on top?

@Gian: you have a great attention to the details! :D

Well, technically, that’s the “brand”, or “logo + logotype”. But I’m nitpicking, you’re right. :)

The blooming flower remained on the logotype for continuity: I’ve added it years ago to make it coordinated with the old logo without adding the logo itself and I still find it a good addition. :)

I liked the description of the process on how you reinvented your logo. What you do not say in the post is that you still kept the blooming flower (or leaves) on the extended version of the logo (the one with the title :-)

Well, any good vector software is able to support the creation of a logo (Illustrator, Inkscape …but there isn’t much choice).

As for me, I usually draw them in Illustrator. The logosheet is made in Illustrator too (since it’s a single A4 you can avoid InDesign). :)

Great post Davide, totally agree about the circular idea of a logo. What do u use to design the Intense Minimalism logo after the handwritten? And the logosheet?
